A change in the air

I have been thinking about this for a year, and yet i have procrastinated instead of ":doing what i say!" Instead i chose the option of "saying it than physically doing it!" I was at work pondering about my life in between nursing work...thinking after almost 3yrs i want to go and do something else! hrm a ballerina? a strip dancer? a lawyer? a doctor?
The pros and cons of the jobs, yet it all comes to your passion in the job, money (hey can't lie hey?!) whether you like working alone or with people or animals etc...

Like many people there are the jobs you have dreamt of since being young! Once you are an adult you realise that the 'dream job' may not be as what you thought it would be or that its blatantly not really a job that suits you. wtf?
I am a girl so of course i dreamt of being a celebrity, Miss Universe (watching too much teen miss usa, miss universe, miss world..thanks mum!), the next Nigella Lawson or the female version of Jamie Oliver! a doctor, an actress or an air hostess! There have been times that i would like to be an M.D (medical doctor) but the extra studies for it i honestly don't have the patience. I do like working with people, however i feel i have the itch to do something else other than nursing. Of course nursing does have interesting things to see, hear, do and learn. It sure is amazing that there are certain things that makes the human body an AMAZING body with all the things jabbed, injected, fed you name it!

There are plenty of courses out there, yet some courses are pricey and then other times you think, at the end of the course 'can you really do this ?'

The careers i've wanted to do: -
Lawyer
I found Legal studies @ high school very interesting about law in australia and abroad..to the point i wanted to be a Liar..*ahem* lawyer. Shows like Alley McBeal, Boston Legal, Criminal Minds etc made me think about getting in to legal jobs...not all glitz and glamour like on the t.v's and i know its bloody hard work and cases need to reflect on similar cases throughout the years. Then again i am not a huge debator etc so i think ill just leave it to the experts who are in the legal job.

Air Hostess
(or cabin crew)
Since i got on the Philippine Airline aged 4, on the way to New Zealand i was curious and fascinated on the cabin crew taking care of us in the long flight to New Zealand. They look beautiful, immaculate, perfume smelling (or colonge ..yes men dont wear purfume!), cute heels and uniform. I wanted to be one. I use to pretend i was an air hostess with my teddy bears/ dolls in my 'pretend airplane!'. Not until i was older there were requirements of being one! Well i could always work as a ground staff! :D

Miss Universe/ Model
Like majority of young girls, idolising slender pretty women, catwalking on victoria secrets or Miss Universe. Ahh what a lift! Fashion magazines, catwalks, high life..well not all the time. Hard work..seriously hard work to be stick thin!....Slender and as we age..it's a completely different story. plus height wise..if they do a petite modelling i'm lining up! lol.

Doctor
Yea in medical field...usual stigma for parents to sugguest to their children to become a Doctor. Its a hard job to learn and then where's the social life? There are also times i would like to be a surgeon..then again studying for long periods..ill be bored!

Fashion Designer
At one stage i did...it'd be fun but too much competition and hard work and creativity. I mean i am creative at times but i think it does take a certain person to be one.

Well I will b searching for a while till i find something that really interests me and hope fully has something towards the end of the course!

Adios

Trance Energy at the Met

Saturday well i didn't sleep in (in which i normally do when it's my day off!) so got up early..
..if you say 9am is early. So Ray & I went grocery shopping @ Kippa Ring Shopping Centre a.k. Boganville! urgh! it smelt really bad in the shopping centre...VERY BAD BODY ODOUR. C'om people there is a product called DEODERANT! Spent 1hr and 30mins there - shopping and had MacDonalds for lunch. Then went back home..small chores i.e. clothes and then watched Scrubs and Flight of the Concords with Ray before taking him to his Dad's place in Scarborough...drove back home then went to lie on the couch and watched Iron Chef America marathon ...well for 4hrs!

So yes I was being lazy on Easter Saturday! I was trying to go for a nap so i didn't feel too sleepy at Trance Energy. I was disappointed that my boyfriend us unable to go, however I got over it. I text round and phone around to see if anyone was free but they were either working or decided to stay home so I ended up going on my own.

Trance Energy was fabulous. Like I said i was bummed Andy didn't come but then it turned out good that I went on my own. Don't get the impression i don't like other people's company..it is nice to just go on your own and just have your own fun!

I only wanted to go because i wanted to see BT and Judge Jules...my dreams came true! They rocked. I also like Marco V and Sander Vandorm. Honestly I am not a hardcore Trance (or rave) person, however there are a few good trance music out there. I appreicate their work. Yes people with those huge reflective pants!

Like every other music festivals the atmosphere, the crazy dancers, drunks, sweat, bo, no bo, smiling, cheering, photos (for facebook! lol) and of course the fashion. It was actually not too bad, more like night clubbing clothes however a few did dress up and of course with 'THOSE PANTS!"

The first dj at the met stage i didn't know who it was but when BT was on i just bust-a-groove lol i mangage to get to the front yes close to the DOOF DOOF area/ mosh pit. Danced hard out to Sander, Marco V's and Judge Jule's mixes..more w/ judge jules coz he was brilliant!

Left the Met @ 315am Sunday. Ahh it was great!

Spanish Ole!

A night before my first Spanish Language Class. I am excited to learn Spanish. Apart from dating the other half who speaks spanish, I have wanted to learn spanish since I was doing flamenco dancing in 1992 - 1994. I guess i got inspired to dance spanish post- Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games...and randomly on my St Mary's Primary Schoolin New Zealand (still living in New Zealand at that time) notice there was an advertisement of learning flamenco.

Anyway not dragging on about it, I was fascinated in the Spanish culture...well guessing due to the fact that my hertiage has Spanish influence. I remember going to the library & borrowing the Spanish picture book over and over to learn some words. Obvioiusly 'gracias,' 'hola,' 'adios,' got stuck in my head :P i even wanted to do spanish language..and then later after i quit flamenco (due to moving to australia), my spanish facination slowly died down.

When my family & i moved to Australia in 1998 i was again interested to do flamenco dancing. I wasn't sure if there was any classes. I did manage to find one but never ever went...over the years i kept procrastinating...however.... i managed to watch a few spanish/flamenco shows either by myself @ the QPAC or with family at the Powerhouse. The one @ the Powerhouse was a dinner and show and it was fantastic! Loved it. So powerful, sensual, just WOW!It made me want to do flamenco again.

I did eventually do dancing in 2007 (that fact that since i lived in australia i finished school, uni, work and procrastinating in dancing! hahaha) i did mad dance house hip hop classes, however i was itching to do flamenco...SO....2009 january i did my first class in flamenco absolute beginners class. So good! I can't wait to go back to flamenco after easter.

Ahora! back to language...Lani & Julie B are also doing Spanish Class. Even though i won't be heading to South America with them in June/July or wherever they are going for serveral months, i will be learning with them.
So excited and nervous at the same time! For the meantime i listen to Spanish Podcast, go online on busuu.com or studyspanish.com, a couple spanish cds, music i.e. Enrique Iglesias y Shakira and spanish books. I admit i do find it hard but hey keep practicing then i'll get the hang of it. :D I still make mistakes just the way i word things, but yes learning from mistakes.

I know mi madre knows un poco espanol, y mi amigos de facebook :D can help and of coure mi novio.

Okay hasta luego
